Sabah - Getting There

Kota Kinabalu, Sabah's state capital, situated on the West Coast, is the eastern
gateway to Malaysia's attraction of magnificent beaches, islands, fascinating
culture, unique nature parks and more.....
Malaysia Airlines (MAS) and other major airlines run scheduled aircraft services
from Kota Kinabalu to Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Hong Kong, Manila, Bandar Sri Begawan,
Seoul, Taipei and Tokyo. International connections from the rest of the world
are available from Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Hong Kong and Manila. MAS operates
to the major towns within Sabah.
You need to pay an airport service charge of RM40 for international flights, or
RM5 for domestic flights. This Figure is usually built into your airline ticket
cost.
Bookings can be arranged through the offices of Malaysia Airlines or through any
local travel agent.
Taxis from the airport operate under a controlled system. You purchase a coupon
from the counter for your destination, and hand it to the taxi driver. You need
not pay him in cash at all.
