Welcome to The Smokehouse Hotel, nestled next to the golf course in cameron Highlands, ideally located between Tanah Rata and Brinchang.
The Smokehouse, built in 1937 in the style of a traditional timber framed English inn, complete with nooks and crannies, open fireplaces and crooked floors, is a home away from home with 13 spacious suites and a 60-seat restaurant and bar, where service with a smile comes naturally. THroughout the year you can relax and simply watch the world go by while enjoying a meal in our beautiful garden, or in the cooler months, you can make yourself at home inside by our open fireplaces. For more active guests, there is the golf course across the road and any number hikes through the glorious scenery of the virgin jungle.
A scenic 3 1/2 hour drive from both Kuala Lumput and Penang.

The Smokehouse boasts 3 private bungalows and 16 luxuriously appointed rooms and suites. all individually furnished in a blend of contemporary and traditional English designs.
Many have either canopied or four poster beds. Our guests enjoy fantastic views of either the golf course or our award-winning gardens from each of our suites. All our suites have en-suite facilities with baths, erfect for a relaxing soak after a day's golf or walking!
A number of the suites are also able to accommodate two adults and two young childen if required.
Each suite has a TV, tea and coffee facilities and hairdriers. Additional room features can easily be provided for guests such as cots, high chairs, flowers and champagne on request - just one of many little touches to make your stay at the Smokehouse a memorable occasion.

Before dining in the restaurant, you are invited to a pre meal aperitif in the comfort of the bar by the fireplace whilst lingering over menu and wine choices. The perfect ingredients for a cosy and relaxing drink.
Lunch and dinner are not hurried affairs as the food takes centre stage. Our aim is to provide delicious traditionally prepared English food using local ingredients whenever possible. So whether it is a heart-warming pie, a Sunday roast or our signature Beef Wellington, we hope to provide something for everyone.
Tea at the Smokehouse is practically an institution in itself. Served either in the conservatory or in the garden, a choice of several varieties of tea, finely cut sandwhiches, freshly bakeds scones, home made strawberry preserves and cream, combine to make for an unforgettable afternoon.
For breakfast, our guests are treated to a traditional and hearty English breakfast prepared to order and served with a variety of cereals, porridge and freshly baked croissants with homemade marmalade and straberry preserves.

Directions from Kuala Lumpur
Take the NOrth-South Highway Expressway NORTH out of Kuala Lumpur towards Ipoh. About 160km out of Kuala LUmpur is the exit for the town of Tapah at the foothills of Camerons Highlands (Exit 132). Tip: Shortly before the exit is an expressway rest stop with toilets, restaurants and petrol stations.
Once past the Tapah tollbooth, take the left turning on the T-Junction that takes you up to the Cameron Highlands. The 60 km drives up to the hill resort should take less than one and a half hours. The first town you will come accross is Ringlet and, after a couple of small hamlets, you will arrive at Tanah Rata, the main town of Cameron Highlands. 5 minutes beyond Tanah Rata you will arrive at the Cameron Highlands Golf Course, and the Smokehouse is directly on your right.
Directions from Penang
Head out of the island taking the Penang Bridge and head SOUTH on the North-South Expressway towards Ipoh and Kuala LUmpur. After about 160 km take the exit to Simpang Pulai (Exit 137) which is south of Ipoh. One past the tollbooth, take the right turning on the T-Junction. A short few hundred metres on take another right at the traffic lights and this is the road up to Cameron Highlands.
The first lef of this road is about 55km, offering stunning views of the mountain range which the Cameron Highlands are part of, and should take no more than an hour. You will then come across a turning to your right for the first town in the Cameron Highlands, Kampung Raja. After taking this turn, you will pass the small towns of Kampung Raja, Kuala Terla, Tringkap and Brinchang. A little past Brinchang you will come across the Cameron Highlands Golf COurse and driving around the golf course you will find The Smokehouse located opposite the golf course.
Your total journey from the Penang Bridge should take a little over 3 hours.
