Langkawi is easily accessible by air, sea, rail and road. From Malaysia's capital city Kuala Lumpur, or other key cities in the country, you can take a direct flight on the national carrier Malaysia Airlines (MAS) daily. Silk Air (from Singapore) and Air Asia also has direct flights to the island. The KL-Langkawi flight normally takes about 55 minutes.
There are regular ferry services from the mainland to Kuala Perlis or Kuala Kedah - two ferry points. Travel time differs depending on the exit point as well as mode of transport - motorboat or hydrofoil. Generally, it takes about 40 minutes to an hour. Visitors from Penang can take a daily ferry to Langkawi. The ferry operates once a day and the ride takes about three hours. Langkawi is also easily accessible by ferry from neighbouring Satun (Thailand). This journey takes about 30 minutes.
The North-South Expressway - from Kuala Lumpur to Perlis - is a five-hour journey, after which you have to board a ferry to the island. Buses, taxis and rent-a-car services are easily available from all city centres on the mainland.
Rail services operate from Kuala Lumpur to Alor Setar daily. From Alor Setar, it is a short taxi ride to the ferry terminal at Kuala Kedah.

very nice place to stay. breakfast was so delicious and we took the 3D2N honeymoon package with BBQ dinner. staff also so friendly. next time really want to go there again!!
Date of stay: 2003 May
Stayed there in Sept 2002 for my honeymoon. Didn't actually know what to expect but I was more than happy when we left.
The trip there was a long one since we did not arrive by plane (plane tickets were fresh out and Air Asia did not offer flights to Langkawi then). Our package promised a return transfer to the airport - however, once I called to explain I will be arriving by ferry, Rebak Marina immediately offered to pick us up at the Kuah Jetty.
When we arrived at the Langkasuka jetty, we just missed the scheduled shuttle boat. Upon calling them to enquire whether the next one would arrive on time, yet again they offered to make the trip back to transfer us. (More brownie points for you guys!)
The room was gorgeous. I just love four poster beds. Needless to say, it being a honeymoon, we only left the room for meals and quiet walks.
I also love their band at the bar. We had dinner and they came by to sing any of our song requests.
Would want to head there again in the near future!

The deluxe sea facing room was really nice. The staff friendly except for one or two which seem to prefer to attend to foringners, it seems.Went there 3 times.
Might go the again
The accommodation was fine but the food a bit bland. Far better to go to the Star restaurant on the jetty at the Langkawi end of the ferry.
